With Spring beginning on 1 March, we'd love to welcome you to Long Hazel Park for a Spring touring break. We have fully serviced hardstanding pitches available for touring caravans and motorhomes. Our shower block is heated and we're in a great location for lovely warm village inns; high quality farm to fork restaurants and fantastic walks across Somerset and Dorset. With an early Easter bank holiday this weekend this year, starting on the final weekend of March, take a look at our final touring pitches:

Our open all year touring park is the only five star Touring and Camping Park in South Somerset and we're also multi award-winning in the Premier Parks Top 100 UK sites; Practical Caravan Top 100 as voted by guests and we've won several gold awards in both the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards and the South West Tourism Awards.

Visit Wells Cathedral for some fantastic events this March.

Part of the Wells Cathedral events by candlelight, the first of the March events is West End Musicals by Candlelight. Live orchestra London Concertante are joined by some of West End’s greatest singers on 8th March.

On 20th March, cinema's most iconic music will be performed by the Illuminated Orchestra.
​
On 29th March, Carl Orff’s highly popular Carmina Burana featuring two pianos and percussion will accompany a choir.

There's three horse racing events this March at the Wincanton Racecourse. As one of the Jockey Club racecourses, you will be guaranteed a great day out with track-side views. Experience some of the best young horses trained by local trainer, Paul Nicholls. We're the nearest five star caravan park to the Wincanton racecourse.

One of the highlights of the East Somerset Railway's calendar, visit for the Whistlestop Cream Tea weekend. Cream teas can be purchased from the Station Cafe and tickets will allow attendees unlimited travel on any of the steam trains throughout the day.

The East Somerset Railway is based in Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet. The cream tea weekend is held on 8th and 9th March.

March sees a return of sporting activities in Somerset, with football matches and the Yeovil Half Marathon. At just seven miles from Yeovil, our caravan park makes a great place to stay - and we have holiday lodges for hire too.

There's two main antique events in Somerset this March, both held at Shepton Mallet, which is on the bus route directly from Sparkford High Street.

Sunday 2 - Giant Flea Market, The Royal Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet. The giant flea market is always very popular with our guests, with further events on Sundays throughout the year.
Learn about foraging for wild food with day long courses throughout March in Frome. Wild Food UK will be running events to teach the basics on identifying and gathering wild food.
​
There will also be tips on how to use your foraged food for the best recipes and elevate your culinary skills!
​
Courses are on: 8 March 4 & 25 April; 10 May; 6 & 29 June; 12 July at the East Woodlands Village Hall.


Join Fergus Garrett, Head Gardener at Great Dixter, the Christopher Lloyd designed garden in East Sussex for a lecture with the Arts Society Mid Somerset.

Held at Caryford Hall in Ansford on 18 March, Garrett will be exploring how planting a garden is like painting a picture. On 8th April 2019 Fergus received the highest accolade the Royal Horticultural Society can give: The Victoria Medal of Honour (VMH) and he lectures in ecology and how ornamental gardens and biodiversity interact.
Visit the Royal Bath and West Showground for their brand new Food and Drink Festival. For the first time, this iconic venue in the middle of Somerset, known for its celebration of farming and food will be hosting a new event on 22 and 23 March 2025.
​
The British Cheese Awards will form the centre of this festival, with visitors able to view and taste award-winning cheeses. There will also be a bierkeller-style area, providing a flavoursome celebration of Beer. The main stage area will host talks from food and drink experts throughout the weekend.
