VISITENGLAND INSPECTION 5* TOURING & CAMPING PARK
We're the only 5* Touring and Camping park in South Somerset thanks to our VisitEngland assessment for 2023/2024. Our five star touring park grading represents our extensive upgrades and improvements across the caravan site, including the installation of fully serviced pitches and new additions to our shower block.
Inspections carried out by VisitEngland are unannounced assessments, without prior warning that inspectors will show up. This means that the VisitEngland inspectors are able to give a true reflection of day-to-day goings on. We're assessed across 54 different categories in order to obtain our five star touring park grading!
THE AA INSPECTION 5 GOLD STARS
For the third year in a row, our annual The AA inspection brought great news, where we were awarded a Gold Award on top of our five stars. The AA's Gold ratings are a significant award for us, as they're only awarded to the top caravan and camping sites in the UK.
The AA's assessments are also without prior announcements, so all inspections are a fair representation of how our caravan park looks every day. The AA award caravan park based on park size, so our award is reflective of our small park and the Gold Award represents the best of the best in the small parks category.

We're really pleased with this one, as it's based entirely on voluntary nominations and customer feedback, with our guests highlighting our "warm welcome at this lovely, peaceful site"; "great showers"... "with spotlessly clean facilities" and a very kind mention of the "Wonderful owners".

This is a gem of a site. The site and its facilities are spotless. The site is secure at night with gated entrance etc. Access to the site is easy and straight forward. Pitches are level and our motorhome required no levelling blocks etc.
The site is within easy reach of Haynes Motor Museum and the Fleet Air Arm Museum. A lovely site with very friendly owners. I do no not usually give reviews but on this occasion feel entirely justified in giving this site very positive feedback. Will we return, of course we will asap. One of the best sites we have visited.

FIVE STAR REVIEWS
Quiet, friendly site. We stayed for the jubilee with my partner and friends, loved the site it’s small and very well maintained. Love the fact it was adult only and everyone we met there was so friendly. Alan the owner and his wife were very helpful and made us feel welcome, the email they send you to advise you of your pitch was so informative and gave plenty of information as to where we could go, what activities were going on - I was so impressed they provide a 5 star experience and run an excellent site.
We will return in the near future. The villages, walks and locals were all friendly and they made a fantastic effort to celebrate the queens jubilee - the beacon lighting was fantastic and well worth the 2 1/2 Mile walk - something I will never forget. Thank you for making us feel welcome, we had a fabulous 4 day stay and will recommend it.
- Sue Biggs
A very tranquil, quiet site. If you just want to sit and put your feet up, chill and relax then this is the place to come. Very clean site, not too big, very friendly owner and dog friendly with lovely walk just across the road.
- Catherine Cheeseley
A very pretty well laid out site. Peaceful and relaxing. Good size pitch. Facilities were spotless. Best caravan site we have visited. Will definitely return. Can't wait.

FIVE STAR DAYS OUT IN SOMERSET
One of Somerset's most talked-about gardens, The Newt, is just 5 miles away in Hadspen. With over 30 acres of gardens and hundreds of acres of woodlands to explore, it's easy to see why these perfectly manicured grounds are the sponsors of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The Newt is also home to a fantastic farm shop, restaurants and cafes, as well as running garden tours and courses throughout the year. The most recent addition to the estate is a reproduction Roman Villa and museum, which invites you to see the way the Romans lived through virtual reality. The annual membership allows entry as many times as you would like during the year, as well as discounted rates for friends.
One of the most celebrated restaurants in the South West is just on our doorstep. Nearby Osip was awarded a Michelin star in 2021 and is situated in nearby Bruton. Their field to fork meals consist of seasonal menus of six or nine courses. We recommend booking quickly, as their small restaurant is the hottest ticket in town and sells out far in advance.
Fortunately, Osip's sister restaurant, The Old Pharmacy, is next door to the main restaurant and also features exceptional seasonal food, with a less competitive booking system. We'd also recommend Roth Bar and Grill in Bruton for great food.
Swiss art gallerists Hauser and Wirth have opened some of the top galleries in the world, from Zurich to New York and have displayed some of the most expensive and famous artwork of all time. We're very fortunate to be home to Hauser and Wirth Somerset at nearby Bruton (7 miles), which was opened in 2014 and has seen incredible exhibitions from Louise Bourgeois and Henry Moore. The gallery is free to visit, with one of Somerset's most beautiful gardens designed by Piet Oudolf, one of the best-known garden designers in the world who has designed gardens for the Serpentine Gallery and the New York City Highline.
Spend your free time on a golfing break, with lots of great golf courses nearby in Somerset and Dorset. We have three excellent golf courses very close by; Wheathill golf course at Lydford-on-Fosse (6 miles) offering a challenge to golfers of all abilities, Long Sutton golf course on the Somerset levels (10 miles) a challenging course and one of the best in the local area or Yeovil golf course (8 miles) a championship standard 18 hole parkland course set in beautiful surroundings.
We are surrounded by National Trust properties in Somerset and those in Dorset and Wiltshire make great days out too. Whether you enjoy visiting lavish manor houses, or perfectly pruned gardens, there are many properties worth using your National Trust membership for. We'd personally recommend Lytes Cary, Montacute and Stourhead as three of our nearest National Trust properties.
Enjoy a massage at The Beaute Shed in Weston Bampfylde, just a mile away from us, in the next village. The salon also offers a range of beauty treatments, which are ideal to book in if you are staying with us for a nearby wedding or event. Next door is our local farm shop and cafe at The Old Parlour which as great local produce. If you'd like to pamper your dog, there is also a dog grooming salon at the same complex to ensure your pup looks five star too!
Somerset's biggest fashion export, the famous Mulberry luxury leather goods, are lovingly manufactured in North Somerset. Shepton Mallet, just over 10 miles away, is home to the Mulberry outlet factory shop, which has a great collection of mens and womens clothing and accessories from both current and past collections. With some items produced as one offs, you might just end up with a bespoke bag at a fraction of the price! The Mulberry factory shop is also part of Kilver Court designer village, featuring brands such as Toast and Yves DeLorme, as well as one of the most celebrated private gardens in Somerset which was once part of the Babycham estate.
Take a day trip to Bath, one of the most beautiful cities in the country. The whole city has been named a "World Heritage Site" as one of the "Great Spa Towns of Europe". Full of wonderful shops, eateries and landmarks, Bath is a must visit for a five star day out! See how the Romans enjoyed a luxury day out by visiting the famous Roman Baths, or treat yourself to a relaxing day by visiting Bath Spa, which has a beautiful rooftop pool with views of the city. Bath is easy to get to by train from our nearest station at Castle Cary, or there is a park and ride car park just outside the city.
See Somerset from the sky and take a once in a lifetime flight over the county. Two hot air balloon companies run flights over South Somerset, including King Arthur's Camelot and Castle Cary and over to Glastonbury Tor: "South West Balloon Flights" and "Aerosaurus Balloon Flights". Flights begin from Wheathill Golf Course at Lovington, near Castle Cary or Wincanton Racecourse.

Treat yourself to a Sunday roast at nearby pub, The Mildmay Arms in Queen Camel. Voted one of the top Sunday roasts in Somerset, the pub offers 1, 2 or 3 courses with seven different mains. You can either eat in the restaurant, or enjoy the outdoor eating area in the summer months.
