SHOWER BLOCK FACILITIES OPEN 2021
Our Shower and Toilet Block facilities are open for 2021 from 17 May.
We have obtained VisitEngland's Good To Go and The AA's Covid Confident certification and ensured that our facilities are as safe as possible whilst following the pandemic restrictions.
We have separate showers and toilets for gents and ladies, as well as a designated accessible wetroom.
Due to extra cleaning measures between showers, we would kindly ask that any customers who have access to their own on-board facilities please use these to free up facilities for those who do not have their own.
We have newly installed serviced touring pitches with water taps and drains on site to make using your own facilities easier whilst restrictions are in place.
From 1 September 2021, in line with Government guidance, we will no longer require our guests to pre-book their showers.
Our shower cubicles are lined with hospital grade, wipe clean cladding, manufactured from a recycled plastic which ensures that viruses cannot grow on the surface. We have rigorous cleaning processes in place, including fogging our shower and toilet facilities and extra cleaning of high-use touchpoints.
During the ongoing Covid-safe restrictions, we have had to close off some wash basins and some toilet cubicles to ensure safe social distancing indoors. In line with Government guidance, we have run a shower booking system for the summer of 2021.
WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR SHOWER BLOCK AND COVID-SAFETY...
"Lovely quiet site. Very good facilities. Covid safe rotas on showers. Clean and tidy. Will be going back can't recommend enough"
"First class! The camping field is well laid out with plenty of trees and pick nick benches. everything is immaculate, from the tidy verges to the touring bays. The amenities block looks brand new and was a pleasure to use. On most campsites we use there are usually little signs of wear and tear in the amenities' block, such as a cracked wall tile, or gaps in the tile grouting. Not here, everything was in an excellent state of repair, and so shiny and clean. Very quiet site, very relaxing. We will be back."
"Excellent bijou campsite, meticulously clean and tidy, very well managed and remarkably peaceful. Lovely walks from the campsite, a well stocked farm shop nearby and easy access to many Somerset attractions."
"I have returned 5 times now to this little Gem of tranquillity - Pam and Alan are the ultimate hosts, making you feel safe and at home, in their beautiful back garden The whole place is spotless, well maintained and all covid practices upheld to the highest standard. I highly recommend Long Hazel to all. Many thanks to Alan and Pam."
"First time at Long Hazel caravan park and it will certainly not be our last. Thanks again Alan and Pam see you soon."

"Enjoyed 3 nights here on our and want to thank Alan and family for a lovely stay. So helpful and kind. Thank you for the use of your disabled facilities. Probably the best I have used. Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely put this on our list of sites to return to."
SHOWER BOOKING FROM 1 SEPTEMBER 2021
From 1 September, we will no longer be running our shower booking system. Our Shower and Toilet Block facilities will be open all day, with regular cleaning throughout the day and a deep clean at 11am - 2pm where we would kindly ask you not to shower so that our cleaning products are left to work.
Government guidance issued on 17 August 2021 states that we must:
"Frequently clean toilet and bathroom facilities. Special care should be taken for cleaning of... larger toilet blocks". The 'reasonable measures' requested in Government guidance are reflected in our Risk Assessment.

PAST COVID-19 GUIDANCE: HOTELS AND GUEST ACCOMMODATION
"Managing Shared Facilities in Guest Accommodation issued 11 May 2021:
- Shared toilet facilities are permitted, and clear signage should be provided on how to use shared toilets in line with social distancing and social contact rules.
- Shared shower facilities are permitted but should only be used where social distancing can be managed. All possible steps should be taken to minimise household mixing and reduce the risk of transmission. Where possible, this should include assigning shared shower facilities to one permitted group of 6 people or 2 households/bubbles (i.e. making them private) or running a reservation-and-clean rota (whereby one permitted group of 6 people or 2 households/bubbles can exclusively book the shared facilities for a fixed time, and the facilities are cleaned thoroughly between reservations). Where it is not possible to manage social distancing and minimise household mixing, shared shower facilities should remain closed.
- Where showers and toilets are shared, clear use and cleaning guidance should be set to ensure they are kept clean and clear of personal items, and that social distancing is managed.
- Ensure that you provide adequate ventilation. This means supplying fresh air to enclosed spaces where people are present. This can be natural ventilation through windows, doors and vents, mechanical ventilation using fans and ducts, or a combination of both."
